and then continued as a way to catalogue some of the work and ideas being explored with a collective of movers, Big If Dance Experiments.
A collective of dancers, actors, movers, musicians exploring together every sunday morning from 10am-1pm at Little Beirut. Currently at work on the intersection of science and art, specifically working to figure out a collaboration with scientists from the Center for Chemical Evolution. "Big If" comes from Charles Darwin in a letter he wrote to Joseph D. Hooker in 1871, "It is often said that all the conditions necessary for the first production of a living being are now present. But if (and oh, what a big if)...." Big If dance.theatre is drawing material from essays from the CCE, Darwin's writings, a book by Kate DiCamillo, The Magician's Elephant and, of course, our own imaginings and musings.
